Experience shows that a tax audit usually triggers a tax investigation. However, inter-authority &#8220;control notifications&#8221; or anonymous reports by third parties to the investigating authorities can also give rise to a tax investigation. Last but not least, the media and whistleblowers in the broadest sense repeatedly uncover large-scale tax evasion.   <\/p>\n<p>The risk of entrepreneurs and wealthy private individuals becoming the target of a tax investigation has increased over the years. Investigators are following stricter rules and in cases where clear breaches of tax declaration obligations are identified, it is almost impossible to avoid criminal tax investigation proceedings. <\/p>\n<p>Minoggio Grezesch Bachmann regularly assists clients in tax investigations. Those affected themselves or their tax advisors turn to us to obtain an expert assessment of the situation and also to develop an effective defense strategy. Our task is to calm the often emotionally charged situation, to take the accused &#8220;out of the game&#8221; and to communicate with the tax investigation authorities.  <\/p>\n<p>If the tax investigators are at the door, immediate action is required.
