Bremen | Cologne, 08.01.2024. GREZESCH & BACHMANN, a law firm specializing in tax law and criminal tax law, has gained the experienced criminal tax law expert Dr. Andreas Höpfner as a new partner.
Höpfner joined the Grezesch & Bachmann team at the beginning of January 2024 and will expand the firm’s newly opened office in Cologne.
Grezesch & Bachmann, one of Germany’s leading criminal tax law firms, is thus strengthening its presence in the Rhineland.
“We are delighted to have Andreas Höpfner, an outstanding specialist in criminal tax law, as a partner. He has proven expertise and, with his many years of experience, will further expand Grezesch & Bachmann’s advisory skills in the Rhineland. With our new Cologne office, we are now also present and more quickly accessible for our clients in this important economic region. Because not only the highest level of expertise, but also proximity and trust are indispensable in our field of law,” says Dr. Alexander Pallas, partner at Grezesch & Bachmann.
The specialized law boutique with additional offices in Bremen and Hamburg has been advising companies and private individuals on tax and criminal law matters for almost 40 years and stands for goal-oriented problem solving in tax conflicts.
This includes, among other things, conducting tax objection and lawsuit proceedings, defense in tax and commercial criminal proceedings, recourse defense in liability issues and the preparation of voluntary disclosures.
“Grezesch & Bachmann is a powerful, highly specialized law boutique. I am very much looking forward to the exciting challenge of establishing and further developing the Grezesch & Bachmann office in the Rhineland. This also includes the close exchange with colleagues at all three locations,” says Andreas Höpfner.
Höpfner has been admitted as a lawyer since 2009 and as a tax advisor since 2016.
He is moving from Flick Gocke Schaumburg, where he worked for around ten years, including six years as an associated partner.
His main areas of expertise are criminal tax law, tax disputes and tax compliance.
Current topics include advice on cum/ex and cum/cum proceedings as well as voluntary disclosure and preventive advice in connection with income from cryptocurrencies.
He previously worked for well-known law firms in Cologne and Frankfurt am Main.
Andreas Höpfner completed his dissertation in international tax law at the chair of Prof. Dr. Dieter Birk in Münster.
He regularly publishes articles on current tax law and criminal tax law issues and gives lectures and seminars on these topics.
